A Dream
●Kaylee Zou

I lie in my bed
Ready for slumber,
Only to find myself wide awake,
I toss and turn,
And flip under my covers,
Sighing deeply,
I stare at the ceiling,
Suddenly, I feel a slight jerk,
My bed rises up into the air,
Then, it tumbles out the window,
With me on it,
Up it flies,
As the wind slashes through my hair,
And caresses my cheek,
Away my bed and I soar,
Skimming on top of clouds,
For what seemed like hours,
On we flew,
Racing through the night sky,
Then, everything blurred and faded,
I sat up with a start,
Rubbing my eyes,
I finally acknowledge that my journey,
Was sadly just a dream,
I frown,
Though it quickly turns into a grin,
For I realize,
How my adventure can continue,
During the day,
 A daydream,
But that, I must say,
Is another poem…

A Friend
A friend is there to be befriended,
To always be friendly,
They would bring you out of unfriendly gloom,
And take you to happiness,
And pride that you fulfilled your friendship,
So if I were you,
I would befriend a friend,

Before

The past can be treasured,
Or it can be despised,
That’s why we must look forward,
And not back,
For sometimes you must let go of before,
And focus on now,
Why?
Because now is now.

Assumptions

When do perils happen most?
Maybe when something is risky,
Maybe when something is dangerous,
But most of all when something is assumed.

It seems to be completely innocent I would assume,
The act of assuming
But it is risky, and dangerous,
Even perilous.

But the outcome could be risky,
Dangerous,
Even perilous,
When you assume.

But that is just a risky,
Dangerous,
Even perilous,
Assumption made about assumptions.

Far
●Kaylee Zou

You will achieve as far as you go,
You will go as far as you strive,
You will strive as far as you want,
You will want as far as you hope,
And hope is the start of achievement.

Aurora

Speared through the deep, dark sky,
Are layers of color,
Draped down to earth,
Curtains to the night,
Leaving the site,
Stunning.

Almost

There is a lot that I almost accomplished,
I almost finished my homework,
I almost passed my history test,
I almost did my chores today,
I almost finished this poem,
As you can see I almost accomplished a lot of things.

Beyond
What lies beyond the wall of life?
What awaits our arrival?
The end or the start…
What is beyond will forever be
A mystery

Blossom

In the spring,
Those common little buds,
Diverse,
Blossoming into exquisite flowers,
And so each and every one of you,
Must let yourself blossom too.

Blades of Grass

What lies between the many blades of grass?
You can always marvel;
Perhaps there are dancing pixies,
Perhaps there are singing fairies,
Perhaps there are grouchy dwarves,
Perhaps there are sparkling sprites,
Perhaps there is a colony of elves,
Who knows?
It is a mystery,
That might never be solved,
Unless you use a skill,
That everyone possesses,
Something called,
Imagination.

Who will be quite friendly,
And have a friendly friendship.
